DONATION OF OBJECTS

The Museum of Costume and Textile of Québec regularly receives donations that enhance its collection. These garments and accessories bear witness to Quebec history and to the textile heritage of the world’s many cultures.

Would you like to make a donation?

It’s easy: e-mail or mail photos of the item(s), along with a description and other information about each piece: name of the original owner of the garment or accessory, name of the artisan or tailor, a brief history of the piece.

The MCTQ will assess the item’s condition and check whether equivalent items are already in its collection. Accepted items will then be submitted to the acquisitions committee for final approval.

A tax receipt for the fair market value of the item will be issued to donors upon request.

The museum reserves the right to refuse donations.

All of the museum’s acquisitions are by donation only.
